The governor has been signing and vetoing legislation passed by the Illinois legislature these past several days. One of the bills I co-sponsored increases the penalties for criminals who attack people in churches while praying or conducting religious activities. (read more HERE)

Thank you to everyone who has taken the “Property Tax Survey” so far. (click here to take it).

9-11 Attacks on United States – 18th Anniversary

Most of us will never forget where we were and what we were doing eighteen years ago when our country was attacked. Over 3,000 people died, including 8 from Illinois, at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., a Pennsylvania farm field, and on the planes used as weapons on those facilities. Please remember those victims and their families and friends on September 11th. (Learn more at the 911 Memorial & Museum)

If you are looking for a way to say thank you to our first responders on 9-11 join me at the Tribute Dinner in Lawrenceville. (More info here)
