As the county fair season is well under way, I want to say thank you to the many people who have made me feel welcome at your county fairs and 4-H events around the district.

With the spring legislative session over for the summer, the “Veto Session” will be our next opportunity to address legislation at the end of October and beginning of November. Smokey Bear Turns 75!

This week we celebrate the 75th Birthday of the well-known fire-prevention character “Smokey Bear.” Since 1944, Smokey’s been working hard to inspire Americans to prevent wildfires. Follow his history here through memorabilia and print, radio and TV messages.
